One searchable list of every club: who runs it, who advises it, when it meets. Students join in a tap and the advisor approves. No more chasing a spreadsheet nobody updates.
Attendance in seconds
Set the weekly meeting once and Bellroll builds the whole semester. Leaders open today's meeting and tap names. Every record saves the room and the supervising adult automatically.
Forms parents actually sign
Parents get a link by email and sign on their phone. No account, no app, no paper slip in a backpack. You watch signatures come in and nudge the ones that haven't.
A dashboard that answers questions
How many clubs are active? Which ones have no confirmed advisor? Which haven't met in a month? What share of students are in something? One screen, and it exports for the board packet.
The list most schools can't produce
Ask a high school how many students are involved in nothing at all, and most can't say. Not because nobody cares — because the answer lives across a dozen sign-in sheets, three spreadsheets, and whatever the advisors remember.
Bellroll builds it from live club rosters, not scans at events. Import your enrollment list once, and the students on no roster anywhere show up as a list. Not a percentage in a slide deck — names, with grade levels, that a counselor can do something about on Monday.
Student data, handled properly
We designed around Connecticut's student privacy law before writing the first line of code, because a school can't sign otherwise — and frankly, because it's our school too.
- Built for FERPA and Connecticut PA 16-189, and we sign the CT SDPC standard data privacy agreement.
- No ads, no trackers, no profiling. We never sell or share student data. There is no version of this where that changes.
- Your school owns its data. Full export whenever you want it, full deletion if you leave.
- Encrypted in transit and at rest, hosted in the US, with an append-only audit log on every record.
- Students can only ever see their own data — enforced on the server, not just hidden in the interface.
- Parents get their child's complete record on request, no runaround.
Who's building this
Bellroll is being built by students at a Connecticut public high school. We're the people who run the clubs — the ones passing around a clipboard at the start of a meeting and typing names into a spreadsheet that's wrong by October.
We started this because the tools schools already pay for handle athletics, grades, and attendance during the day, and then stop at 2:45. Everything after the bell runs on paper and group chats.
We're building the first version now and hope to run our first pilot this school year. If you run activities at a high school, we'd genuinely like to hear how you do it today — even if you never end up using this.
Schools can tell you every student's grade in every class, going back four years. Ask which kids aren't part of anything, and the room goes quiet.
